INVESTIGATIONS are underway after a domestic garage was deliberately set alight on Monday night.
The garage in Windsor Avenue, Astley, caught fire at 9pm when the home owner was out. The wooden garage was completely destroyed by what firefighters believe to have been arson.
A fire spokesman said: "It must have been deliberate as there were no power sources in the garage. They were very lucky that the garage was double glazed so that it didn't penetrate the windows, it could have quite easily spread into the house."
