A DREAM team of American-style wrestlers is bringing its original show to Westleigh for the first time.

The Wigan-based North West Professional Wrestling Alliance will fight to "Breaking Point" at St Paul's Labour Club on October 25 at 7.30pm.

Among the stars on the bill is Leigh's Dangerous Damon Leigh, 17-years-old Damon Bradley, who will challenge champion Heresy in an international title match.

Damon at 6ft 1in, and weighing 195lb, is said to be one of the brightest stars in the NWPA crown and holds the organisation's lightweight championship title.

The show will be the 10th since the Alliance was launched 18 months ago by former amateur wrestler Darren Poole.

The professional set-up, which can call upon a base of 25 creative wrestlers, has previously brought its show to Leigh Miners and in its short life has gathered a big following.

The main event will be a bout for the NPWA championship between champion Richard Noble from Chorley and challenger Doctor Dream (Gary Thomas) of Wigan.

The show also features Tomahawk, Jason Glory, Slayer, Crux, Necross and many more.

They will be kept in hand by Kommissioner Karlyle (Ian Clark), the "big mouth man in charge".

Doctor Dream (Gary Thomas), who has been advised by the top US stars, Kurt Angle and The Rock, said: "We're looking forward to bringing the team back to Leigh and are hoping for a good turn out.

"Although the wrestling is American-style the fighters are all originals, there are no copied gimmicks.

"We have a training camp on Saturdays 6pm to 8pm and on Sundays 3pm to 9pm at the Manley Street Community Centre, Ince, for anyone wanting to come and learn the sport.

"We run a very professional show and website, www.npwa.co.uk, which has won a best of the web diamond award."
