STAFF at a national shoe store could soon be starting the day at work with a difference -- by rapping!

Blackburn-based sales assistant Naseem Khan - aka Nas-T - has impressed bosses at Brunswick Warehouse so much with a rap he wrote they are thinking about adopting it as a motivational company song to be sung every day.

Nas, 23, wrote the rap for a fund-raising day the store held in aid of the NSPCC.

He recorded it with free studio time from Amazing Productions and it played all day while he and manager Kim Smith did an eight-hour cycling marathon.

Word got through to management and they liked it so much they invited to perform it, and a new composition, at a company conference in Newcastle.

Nas said: "I've been MC-ing for about four years so it just seemed like a good idea to promote the day. The bosses heard it and must have liked it. All my colleagues love it!"

The company is no stranger to adopting a song as the last one recorded for a managers' conference - the Brunswick Chant - was sung every morning in all its 70 stores. Marketing director Colin Leggatt said they were thinking about going hip-hop.

He said: "We have found in the past that having a company song is good way of maintaining the kind of team atmosphere that we have at Brunswick Shoe Warehouse.

"The Brunswick Chant was written for a joke and became very popular, so who knows, if the managers and staff enjoy Nas's rap then we could have a new company song."

Kim said: "I definitely think they should adopt it. We all think it's great and are proud to have Nas as a member of staff."

The Rap:

Come on everybody

Now can't you see

We're the famous

Brunswick family

Raising money from A to B

It's all about the NSPCC

Stopping cruelty from their family

Working together in harmony

Fund-raising, games for the kids - just take part

don't give it a miss

Come together with Kim and the team

You know what I mean?

N-S-P-C-C - working together with the kids and the family (repeat)

N-S-P-C-C - cruelty to children must stop
