IN JULY, 2001, I had a mammogram screening and went on to have surgery. I have just had another mammogram at Accrington Victoria Hospital.
I must reassure women that having a mammogram is not as bad as Jean C Lewis found (Letters, October 3).
She must have been very unlucky. The mammogram lasts about 60 seconds, staff are very understanding and do their best to make you feel at ease.
So please do not be put off having a screening because of Jean C Lewis's experience.
