POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault in The Works pub in Northgate, Blackburn.

A man allegedly struck another man on the head with a bottle in the pub before leaving and walking up Northgate.

He was then involved in a second incident outside King George's Hall with the three men.

DC Dan Perkins of Blackburn CID said: "We want to trace people who were in The Works and might have seen the incident.

"A male was allegedly assaulted with a bottle and momentarily collapsed to the floor.

"The pub was quiet at the time and someone must have seen something.

"A 34-year-old male has been arrested and is helping us with out inquiries, but it is essential that we trace witnesses to the first incident."

The man who was allegedly attacked suffered minor injuries and was involved in the altercation outside King George's Hall, at around 11pm on Friday night.
