WHEN Darwen gains its independence and the Arndale Centre has been built, I sincerely hope breakaway campaigner Roy Davies doesn't expect the new Blackburn Council to continue sending wagons to grit Bolton's suburban, moorland village roads in the bleak winter months, as they have been doing since 1974.
No, Roy, this is your baby -- your new Darwen Council won't begin where Ewood leaves off and end at Bull Hill with anything half a mile either side of the A666.
With all the reorganisation, Blackburn will have its own work cut out when its own natural suburbs are returned from Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Chorley and South Ribble.
