CLARETS fans observed a minute's silence on Saturday in tribute to a tragic soccer fan Nathan Shaw.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of 17-year-old Nottingham Forest fan Nathan.
Coroner's officer Bob Wilson told acting East Lancashire coroner Richard Taylor that Nathan, from Nottingham, was assaulted in Burnley on Saturday, December 7 and lost consciousness.
He was taken to Burnley General Hospital and later transferred to Royal Preston Hospital but never regained consciousness.
A post mortem examination was carried out by Home Office pathologist Dr John Rutherford who said a head injury had caused his death.
Police distributed leaflets appealing for information before Burnley's home game with Rotherham on Saturday. Everyone in the ground observed a minute's silence as a mark of respect before kick-off.
An 18-year-old man from Haslingden has been charged with Nathan's murder.
