POLICE today renewed their appeal for information about a doorstep attack in Blackburn that left a man fighting for his life.

They have named a man they want to question in connection with the attack on 20-year-old Lee Kenyon, of Dyson Street, Infirmary, Blackburn.

Detectives want to speak to Carl Lawson about the assault in Flimby Close, off Fishmoor Drive, Blackburn.

They took the unusual step of releasing his picture and said they urgently want to talk to him about the incident.

Mr Kenyon was today stable in the intensive care unit at the Royal Preston Hospital, where his grandmother has been keeping a bedside vigil.

He sustained serious head injuries in a five-minute fight with a number of men and woman inside and outside Mr Lawson's Flimby Close home.

DC Dan Perkins said: "I believe Carl Lawson may be able to shed some light on the assault and urgently need to talk to him.

"We are renewing our appeal for him or anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact us immediately."
