THE new management team of Andy Lawson and Dean Grice secured Colne's second win in three games with the 5-0 drubbing of Daisy Hill.

The Reds got off to a flying start when a cross from James Webster caused havoc in the visitors defence and Chris Ingham on return from injury fired home at the far post in the first minute.

The home side continued to press and went two up after eight minutes when again the visitors failed to clear a cross into the goalmouth and the ball fell to Webster who smashed it home from close range.

A facial injury to leading scorer George Craddock forced him to leave the action being substituted by Andy Banner.

Colne continued to dominate the game with Webster, Ingham and Morley controlling midfield.

Right on half time it was 3-0 to the home side when excellent build up play between Ingham and Webster released Gavin Cooper whose cross was headed down by Ben Callen for Morley to fire home from 12 yards.

The game was won within three minutes of the restart when a low shot from Carl Barton made it four. With the game won manager Lawson substituted his midfield duo Webster and Morley who had dominated from the first whistle.

Several chances went begging before Cooper slid in a cross from Callen at the far post for Colne's fifth on 78 minutes.

The Reds keeper Ross Baxter was a spectator for most of the afternoon in a game that the home side totally dominated.

Colne look to build on a result that moves them up the table at Cheadle Town next Saturday before entertaining local rivals Nelson in a Christmas cracker at Holt House on Boxing Day.

Colne Vice-Chairman Phil Webster was delighted not only with the result but also the commitment of players and staff.

"Andy and Dean are doing a great job and the players are responding. Training has been stepped up and the dressing room is buzzing.

"The management change was right for the club and I now feel confident that we are making progress".
