HOW on earth did we manage to lose after being 3-1 up at home with 25 minutes to go?

Not for the first time this season some very inept defending allowed the opposition back into the game when they should have been dead and buried.

Most fans can see what's wrong at the back -- we are too slow. (We would suggest that most other managers can see it too).

This comedy of errors in defence cannot be allowed to go on any longer.

Never mind searching for a striker, its two full backs with pace that we need -- desperately.

We also need a leader on the the pitch, something we've lacked since Sean Gregan was allowed to leave.

It's time to move some players on -- in fact its long overdue.

The fact that some of the squad appear to be in a kind of comfort zone is due mainly to the previous manager who, as has been said in this column previously, was not brilliant in the transfer market.

Craig Brown has been left with the problem.

But the team has proved over and over that they can't put more than two decent games together. This has got to change and the manager has got to be strong enough to change it.

Otherwise it could cost him his job -- it's already costing him the backing of some of the 'fans'!

The Fans Forum at Longridge last week with Craig Brown and Eric Scora was a huge success and very well attended. Look out for more 'lads on the road' forums in the new year.
