REFERRING to the front page article in your November issue entitled 'Hajj goers on alert'.
It is very true that certain tour operators take advantage of the vulnerable when it comes to the annual Hajj. Not all Tour operators do so and as Muslims we must not and cannot label them all.
It is still a problem that needs to be looked at in more detail by us all. The elderly are usually the first to be targeted because they are less likely to have the know-how or the will to complain. I speak from experience because I found myself in a similar situation to the one in your article when I went to Hajj.
Whilst on Hajj it is very difficult to complain and there are many reasons for this. Whilst here we must ensure that members of the general public are not taken for a ride by unscrupulous tour operators.
Hajj is a time for many to submit to the will of the almighty and for most of us a once in a lifetime opportunity.
A Masood
