BURY Council has proved it has the power to help its tenants stay warm and still save cash.
The Council linked up with Manweb in February last year to help residents become more energy efficient.
They were given advice on how to save money and offered a range of discounted energy-saving products including kettles and low energy light bulbs.
Nearly 400 homes have also been fitted with loft or cavity wall insulation. As a result of the two schemes, the council has benefited to the tune of more than £65,000 from Manweb to help residents implement the energy-saving measures.
