A PRESTON TRUST is looking for individuals from the community to step forward and help make their area a better place to live and work.

The Inner Preston Urban Trust or INPUT for short, is a new Community Regeneration Trust set up to look at the long-term development of Fishwick, St Mathews, Deepdale, Moor Park and Central wards of Preston.

The aim of the Trust is to help co-ordinate activities and investment in the areas so that more can be achieved.

Lateef Badat who co-ordinates the project believes that "Too often it is the case that residents with knowledge in these areas are not given the chance to say what they want and feel, and actively get involved in making decisions - so this is their chance!"

There are no requirements as to the qualifications and experience of the applicants. Knowledge of the areas and a desire to make a change are important.

Additionally, the Trust has a small grant scheme termed "Small Actions, Big Results", which offers small grants awards from £50 - £500 available for projects that provide an impact, for either the social life of the people or the environment in which they live. For example projects might involve arranging a fun day, providing hanging baskets for your street or something completely different.
