THREE cars were stolen today as motorists left them running to defrost.
The thefts, in Heapey and Wheelton, were carried out between 7.35am and 7.47am.
Police believe a gang of four including three drivers and one in a get-away car, targeted the cars.
Inspector Stuart Coates, of Lancashire Constabulary, said: "The owners had started vehicles to let them defrost. Clearly they have been watched.
"People should not to take their eyes off their vehicles for a second."
A blue Jaguar S-Type registration number W322 PRJ was taken from Heapey, a silver Vauxhall Vectra VX registration S850 YNP and a black Mercedes C180 registration LS02 EXB were both taken from Wheelton.
