I WOULD like to thank the young lad who "unblocked" the multi-storey car park in Blackburn on Wednesday, November 27.
I entered the car park at 12.35pm and left at 1.10pm without finding a space. All the floors were full. The top two were completely blocked. No-one could get on or off.
The lad got out of his car and shunted cars back and forth until one of the exits was free.
Eventually, I reached the exit barrier, but, to my amazement, cars were still being let in. When I asked the attendant why, he said it was absolutely nothing to do with him.
So, come on, Blackburn, give me an answer: who was it to do with? Who had the power to stop the cars and tell the occupants with car park was full?
That same evening you carried a report in which the council was was saying: "Help us build a better town centre." Who do they think you are kidding? It is too late for that the town has "lost it."
Instead of more sculpture, they should invest in a sign saying "Car Park Full."
Yes, I did find somewhere to park -- up by the Larkhill Flats. On my way back to the car, picking my way through the litter and going past the dilapidated benches, I was confronted by two "gentlemen" having their afternoon intake of wine.
They asked me if I had any change to spare!"
ROSE DONKIN (Mrs), Copster Green, Blackburn.
