ASIAN Image Sport asked a selection of local managers and players whether they would consider taking their teams off or walking from the pitch if the racist abuse got too much.

JUNAID KALANG

Manager Canaries FC (Preston)

"If the referee is not dealing with the racist abuse on the pitch or is ignoring it I would consider pulling the team off. But it's all up to the individual player at the end of the day. Personally as a player I wouldn't give the opposing team or supporters the satisfaction of knowing they have affected me in any way."

Javed Iqbal

Manager Paak FC (Burnley / Nelson)

"I think we've got used to the abuse over the years but there is definitely less now than there used to be. I wouldn't consider it as a manager or a player because it certainly gives me a greater impetus to win the game. Nowadays if there is any racist abuse it tends to come from the supporters standing on the touchline."

Hanif Mogra

Manager Blackburn United

"I think it would be wrong to walk off because it would definitely give the opposition a lift to know they have affected you in some way. Racism is still a problem at both national and grassroots level and one that needs to be tackled by the authorities. There is the odd person on the side of the pitch who is always going to make comments of a racist nature."
