AN INQUEST has been opened and adjourned into the death of a pedestrian, killed after being struck by a vehicle in Rawtenstall.
The incident happened late last Wednesday afternoon when the victim, Barbara Berry, 69, of Cherry Crescent, Rawtenstall, stepped off a coach.
Police said Mrs Berry was trying to help a friend across the busy Burnley Road when she collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Mrs Berry was taken by ambulance to Burnley General Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
