COUNCILLORS will be asked to reject plans outlining a proposed new dairy unit for 60 cows at a Sabden farm.
Plans to build the unit and slurry store at Cockshotts Farm, Heyhouses, come up before the Ribble Valley planning committee next Thursday.
Residents and St Nicholas's Church leaders have objected to the scheme, which includes the proposed construction of a large timber dairy unit and open-topped slurry tank in a small meadow opposite the church and within 20 metres of houses.
Ribble Valley planning officer David Ellis said: "The dairy unit will be very large compared to all other buildings in Sabden and the slurry tank will not be a good neighbour for nearby houses or the church."
Officers have recommended the scheme be refused on the grounds it will be unneighbourly and an eyesore.
