HUNDREDS of animal lovers travelled to one of East Lancashire's oldest events, the 160th Holcombe Old English Gamecock Show.
The fowl extravaganza at the Old Dun Horse Hotel, in Bolton Street, Ramsbottom, is the oldest known game show in the country and is held annually on New Year's Day.
There was a large turn-out with 97 birds shown by 26 breeders who travelled to the event from across the UK.
Colin Haworth, of Edenfield, chairman of Holcombe Old English Game Fowl Club is pictured admiring the golden duckwing bird of eight-year-old Sophia Taylor, daughter of club member Russ Taylor.
The Mary Shaw Cup for the best bird in the show was won by W L Walford.
Russell Taylor, the club secretary, said: "It was a very successful show with more than 200 visiting."
