A COMPUTER course designed for older people run by Age Concern is due to start in mid-January.

The charity will provide free tuition and offer a basic introduction to topics such as e-mail and the internet.

The sessions are being held on Monday mornings at 10am and noon at the charity's King Street, Blackburn, office and all equipment is provided.

Vicky Shepherd of Age Concern said: "People want to learn how to use a computer or increase the knowledge and skills they have for a wide range of reasons. Some want a basic knowledge to assist them with other studies they are doing, some want to learn a specific skill and some simply want to know what it's all about and keep up with their grandchildren.

"We have people aged from 55 to 85 who are learning computer skills with us so age is no excuse. Computers really don't bite so why not come along and have a go?"

Appointments must be made as numbers are limited. For details call Age Concern on 01254 266620.
