A PUBLIC meeting will take place at the start of the Parish Council meeting on Tuesday, March 11, at 7.30pm to discuss the planning application for Old Hall Farmstead.

The application has been submitted to Burnley Borough Council to allow a change of use from farmyard and buildings in Hall Street to B1 category and the amount of extra traffic it may generate.

The category relates to general, light industrial use but local residents are concerned about insufficient information provided by the applicants .

A petition signed by 50 residents has been aubmitted to the authority.

And the parish council has sent a letter to the planning department stating residents are concerned that the planning process has not been strictly adhered to regarding consultation and the display of the notice.

Planning officers from Burnley Council will be in attendance at the meeting and the agent acting for Old Hall Farmstead will be invited.

THE Parish Council has agreed that people in the village would want to be balloted and vote on whether to have a referendum regarding an elected North West Regional Assembly.

The parish clerk will return the consultation form accordingly. It is expected that Lancashire County Council will campaign against an elected North West Regional Assembly as it would ultimately lead to the end of the authority.
