PENDLE Panthers chalked up their first back-to-back victories of the season with a scintilating display of running rugby and a solid defence.

The Panthers ran in seven tries - four in the first half - and only a late lapse to let Folly Lane score 18 points blotted their copy book.

Full back Sarah Dixon opened the scoring with a typical 80 metre effort before Andrea Dobson dummied her way over to drift in unopposed. Another long range effort from Dixon and a well finished move from centre Shaunagh McGarvey completed the first half touchdowns, while Dobson established a creditable 75 per cent conversion rate.

The second half started with an exchange of tries with Dixon adding a futher two touch downs, while Dobson also powered over for her second of the match.

There were some impressive displays in the Panthers pack, most notably from Heather King and Debbie Dewhurst.

Dobson kicked a further goal, while second row Sophie Adams added another.

In the closing stages, the Panthers took their foot of the pedal to enable the Salford side to run in four tries and cut the gap to eight points.
