ALAN Moore is one of the quieter members of the Clarets squad and is not keen on doing interviews.

Even after his wonderful goal at Fulham helped Burnley force tonight's replay at Turf Moor he was happy to let his feet do the talking.

But today he has admitted that he is hoping that his run of success in the FA Cup might see him find the net again and help Burnley on the way to a quarter-final at Watford.

"I have always managed to score a few goals in the Cup," said Moore who has got both his goals this season in the competition, the other coming in the 2-2 draw with Grimsby in the third round. He also netted the only goal when Burnley went out at Cheltenham last season.

In fact he has scored five times in just eight starts in FA Cup ties for Burnley and previous club Middlesbrough and he said: "It would be lovely to get another one tonight.

"But the important thing is that we are just taking this match the same as any other game. There is a buzz about the Cup but we just have to do everything we normally would."

In recent games the Irishman has been employed in a left sided role with his namesake Ian Moore down the other wing, both encouraged to get forward to support striker Gareth Taylor.

And he has been praised by the man who is expected to link up with him down the left, full back Graham Branch,

"I'm delighted for him because, like me, he has had a lot of injuries," he said. "But he is always a great out ball for me because I can just get it forward to him and let him go off on one of his mazy dribbles. It is a bit different to Brizzer who tends to just sit in front of me but at the moment I have got the best of both worlds.

"I think the match down at Fulham was one of Alan's best for the club, not just because he got a great goal. I know from my experience how important it is to get a run in the side and I think he is benefiting from it."

Moore agreed: "It has been a bit of a stop start season for me but I am enjoying it and I just hope I can stay fit. There is good competition for places in the squad and I like that, it's healthy for the club."

Moore and Branch are likely to have a busy night as they are set to face the impressive Steed Malbranque who forced the replay with his wonder strike at Loftus Road ten days ago.

He played down the right against Spurs but can also be switched with the equally dangerous Luis Boa Morte.

"Boa Morte and Malbranque, that is going to be tough," smiled Branch but it is a challenge he is clearly relishing.

"We have done well against good sides in the past and I like playing against the top players. All the lads are up for it."

Branch has been a revelation this season and a couple of times showed his attacking ability against Derby at the weekend, surging beyond Moore to get a cross in.

"The manager encourages me to get forward and I will try and do that again tonight," he said, looking to link with Moore again. The aim will be to make sure Fulham right back Steve Finnan has an uncomfortable night.

Moore enjoyed his clash with his fellow Irishman in the first game, profiting from his lapse to open the scoring and he smiled: "I'd be happy if that happens again."
