COAL Clough Casuals manager Andy Hallas is looking for sweeping changes to grassroots football -- a restriction on the number of teenagers in a team!

Having seen the young pups of Corporation demolish his golden oldies, Hallas insisted that thirtysomethings with beer bellies should be compulsory for all.

And his team is leading the way!

To underline his point, Corporation had a 16-year-old in the nets, a 17-year-old on the wing and a team packed with freshed face youngsters barely in their twenties.

Only the inclusion of veterans Neil Barrett and skipper Billy Foley bumped up the average age of the team.

Two goals from Damion Bruce and further strikes from Mark Butterworth and Lee Barrett guided the league leaders to a comfortable victory on the seemingly relentless march to the top flight.

For the part, Coal Clough huffed and puffed but were no match for the slick, quick and oh-soon-keen Corporation.

It was always going to be a tough task for the Casuals and conceding an early goal made it that much harder.

From a well worked free kick, Bruce found Barrett at the far post who headed back in to the danger area to leave Butterworth with the simplest of close range tap-ins.

Casuals did almost muster an equaliser when David 'The Bear' Partington tested Corporation keeper Steve Hartley with a long range effort.

But that only served to stir Corporation in to offensive action and Mark Sutcliffe split the Casuals defence for Darren Lavery to race on to and unselfishly square the ball to Bruce to roll in to the unguarded net.

The Casuals did have their moments.

Mark Wadsworth had one goalbound effort blocked for a corner while Glen Bullen fired across the goalmouth.

But by the time Alan Holden also flashed a header across the goal from Nigel Jenkins raking free kick, Corporation were 3-0 up.

Sutcliffe again split the static Casuals defence but then it was all about Lee Barrett.

The speedy winger cut in side his marker, dummied a shot before rounding the keeper and firing home from a tight angle just half time.

In fairness to Coal Clough they found a second wind after the break and kept a Corporation more interested in showboating -- much to the annoyance of skipper Foley -- at bay.

In fact, Corporation keeper Carl Lavery was first in to action to save at his near post from Mark Wadsworth.

But it was largely one way traffic towards the Casuals goal and Maybury produced another smart stop to keep out a low drive from Lavery and then another full length save to tip away an effort from sub Steve Edmondson.

The game appeared to be fading away before a flash of brilliance from Bruce with a stunning 25 yard volley momentarily brought it back to life.

But by that stage, Hallas' has-beens were thinking about pub grub, a pint and those sweeping changes!
