AT last, a councillor who has the guts to tell the truth about Blackburn. 'It's a grotty mill town,' says Councillor Colin Rigby, of the Conservative Party (LET February 12).
Until some of the people who reside in this town change their ways, it will always be grotty.
There are people who don't give a damn about the town. They fail to maintain their property, be it shop or house.
Back yard walls are left to crumble, their back doors are hanging off and guttering and downpipes broken etc. Yet, outside the front doors of these houses sit a cars and the house sports a satellite dish.
These sort of people just sit on their backsides and expect the council to maintain their property.
Streets have been knocked down in the past and new houses built and within next to no time the area is like a tip.
Caring people are fed up with it. It's time the council got to grips and stopped throwing good money after bad.
