WHAT a fantastic, brilliant night it was at Turf Moor as we beat Fulham 3-0 to reach a quarter-final at Watford.

We can now start dreaming of more FA Cup glory but what I really hope is that we don't let ourselves down at Vicarage Road.

I have been at Burnley for seven years now and we have never really had a sniff of Cup glory before, hardly ever played big teams except for a match with Liverpool. But this year has been great in both the FA and the Worthington Cups.

I think we have a got a great chance, especially if we can play like that again, the lads were superb. Before the game we were all hopeful and once we were 2-0 up at half-time I really thought we had it won.

Their only threat had been Boa Morte and once he went off they stopped looking dangerous with Drissa and Coxy again superb at the back.

Then as soon as Davis was sent off in the second half I knew it was game over.

There can be no excuses for Fulham, it is not as if we did them in a one off Cup tie. We played them twice, did the hard work by getting a draw down there and we did them big style last night. I don't like to talk about other sides but they looked poor.

It was nice to get on for a few minutes and now I want to get fully fit so that I can press for a place in the starting line-up.

All the lads are buzzing, the atmosphere was great in the dressing room afterwards and we showed the spirit in the squad last night.

But after the Cup game it is back to the serious business of climbing the league table, something we did last weekend when we beat Derby.

At the same time Stoke dropped to the bottom of the first division with a 6-0 thumping at Forest but we won't take any notice of that. Mind you they did get off the bottom last night with a win and a clean sheet at home to Walsall.

That said we don't pay any attention to results of teams we are about to play. Let's face it, some clubs might look at our results against Grimsby, Rotherham and Reading and think we were the worst team in the league.

I always think of Stoke as a hard-working team, tight and organised at the back but obviously Forest had a good day.

I have quite good memories of going to Stoke because I got a coupe of goals in a 4-1 win there in the season when we went up.

Last time we played at the Britannia Payts got a couple of late goals to earn a point.

It has been said before how important March is for us and after going to Stoke we are back in London on Tuesday night, hoping to keep the great run down there going when we play Millwall.

I am really looking forward to playing a lot of games because I have been out so long and it was great to get back to full training this week.

When you have game after game it keeps you fit and the training looks after itself.

These are exciting times at Burnley and we just have to try and make sure that at the end of the month we are still in contention for the play-offs - and hopefully also the FA Cup.

Then we will see what will happen from there.
