A PIONEERING reading group wants to attract book lovers and theatre goers to its meetings.
Members of Lifelong Learning, in partnership with the library service, have set up the group to link theatre and reading in order to offer something for everyone at their fortnightly meetings.
The group will meet for the first time on Monday from 7 to 9pm at Darwen Library Theatre.
'Educating Rita' will be the group's first theatre trip, on March 13.
A short discussion, led by tutor Sarah France, will follow the meetings.
Organiser Heather Taylor said: "This group is different because it's not intellectually high-brow.
"It's just for people who love reading and enjoy going to the theatre, no matter what qualifications they have.
"We just want people to come along and enjoy themselves."
