BRAVO to Leigh's Steve Smith who battled his way to the final of Friday's 15 to 1.
The retired retail manager took centre stage, starting two points ahead of the competition, to face questions from the suave William G.
He was first to answer three correct answers and plumped to go for a one question, then nominated too quickly.
He held on to survive as last man with one life left, but slipped up on the first question to finish with 63 points and no chance of making the grand final this time.
No doubt he will answer an invitation to return for another go later in the year.
What courage. How anyone has the nerve to face a barrage of questions and a TV audience of millions has my total admiration. Good luck for next time.
