REGARDING your article headlined 'Meeting will bid to allay fears' (LET, February 20), I see that health chiefs and councillors have decided, with the help of all those people who protested through letters to your newspaper or to councillors about the site for Darwen's new health centre, to call a public meeting.
I now hope that all the people who have protested will be able to overturn the health chiefs' idea of building the new centre behind the Leisure Centre and look at the other sites -- such as the old social services building across from the existing health centre in Union Street, or the land near the Access Point, behind Duckworth Street, all of which are on the flat with no steep hills for people to climb.
I also hope when the date and venue for this meeting are decided, that there is a good turn-out for this very important discussion and the people have their views heard.
ALEXANDER GORDON (disabled person), Brighton Terrace, Darwen.
