HOW arrogant of Councillor Ray Watts (Your Letters, Jan 28) to blame the folding of the Federation on the tenants participation compact not being introduced.
Is he not aware that the compact was signed up to in March 2000 and that every tenant in the borough received a copy? Does he also not realise that we are now in 2003? And does he not realise that conflict arises from people trying to change things? I doubt it. Councillors and officers never take responsibility for anything.
As we do not want a tenants association on the estate where I live, if any problems arose I always got in touch with the chairman of the Federation who put me in touch with the secretary, who was very helpful and kind. In fact I would still ask her to sort out any problems because I know they would be dealt with efficiently and honestly.
