AN investigation is being carried out after a man died in a flat fire in Leigh.
The man, who is in his 20s, was found dead behind the front door of the flat on Chisworth Close, Westleigh.
Fire crews took two hours to put out the blaze, which was in the living room.
Leading firefighter Adrian Taylor, who arrived at the scene at 5.30pm on Friday, was one of the officers who found the dead man.
He said: "We were confronted by flames coming out of the back window of the flat and couldn't get in through the door. We ended up climbing through the window."
