BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness was due to hold clear-the-air talks with striker Andy Cole today.

Souness and Cole were set to come face-to-face for the first time at Brockhall this morning since their much publicised bust-up in training on Friday.

And Souness will tell the 31-year-old forward he still has a future at Ewood as long as he's prepared to bury the hatchet.

"Andy still has a future here, definitely. I fall out with my wife every day and we're still talking," said the Rovers boss.

"There was an incident on Friday morning where Andy and I did not see eye to eye.

"I am the manager and I felt it was fit to send him back to the dressing room after what was said.

"That will be handled this week internally but I don't see it being a major problem because these things happen up and down the country most weeks of the year.

"I can understand why the Press are talking about it, though, because Andy is a big player and we are a Premier League team."

The pair got embroiled in a heated argument after Cole allegedly reacted angrily when he received a sloppy pass in training.

Things then escalated and Souness ended up sending the player from the training ground.

Cole was also left out of the squad to face Arsenal on Saturday and he may now face a fight to win his place back after Hakan Sukur took the opportunity to impress Souness in his absence.

"Hakan was excellent on Saturday. He's worth a special mention because he's played very little football this year because of a double hernia and then he broke his leg," said Souness.

"I don't think any centre back would have enjoyed playing against him on Saturday."
