LYTHAM JUNIORS U12s 1

FLEETWOOD GYM 4

PLAYING at Common Edge Road, the score remained 0-0 at half-time. Lytham failed to take advantage of the windy conditions. The second half was more evenly matched than the final score suggests. Both teams created exciting chances and eventually Tom Cartmell scored via a penalty after a foul on Ryan Ayrton. Lytham used four goalkeepers during the match, but the team adapted well to enforced changes.

OUR LADY U13s 6

LYTHAM JUNIORS 4

THIS was an exciting match with the result in doubt almost to the end. Lytham started brightly and took the lead with a superb long shot by Matt Davies. Our Lady's responded immediately with a good individual goal only for Lytham to stretch away through Adam Jackson and Joe Ormond. Our Lady's responded quickly, but Mark Kennedy hit a fine shot to give Lytham a 4-2 interval lead. Playing with the strong wind in the second half, Our Lady's attack put continuous pressure on Lytham. Despite a spirited defence, with James Edgar and Richard Walshe prominent, Our Lady's pulled back and finally got in front with only 10 minutes to go. Lytham continued to work hard and went close on a number of occasions before Our Lady's sealed their win in the final minutes. Joe Ormond was Lytham's man of the match and Adam Butterworth was a brave stand-in in the Lytham goal.

LYTHAM JUNIORS U15s 5

SPIRIT OF YOUTH 0

LYTHAM started strongly and took a 1-0 lead through the inspirational Shaun Connors. However, Lytham allowed Spirit to get back into the game and conceded a penalty which was not converted. Lytham saw the level of commitment diminish until the second half when they were strong once again. Ben Newell produced a second goal. Lytham pressed forward and further goals came from Ben Newell, Charles Daniels and Matt Stanbury. This ensured a deserved 5-0 victory. A good all round team performance.
