JENNIFER Wilson is hoping to enjoy the Spring Bank Holiday at home - as she shows positive signs of recovery from a bone marrow transplant operation.
The Lancaster mum underwent the op in Manchester's Christie Hospital last month in a bid to fight a rare form of leukaemia.
Since then the 35-year-old, from Derwent Road, has been waiting to see if her body has responded to the treatment.
Her sister-in-law Carol Worsley, who is training for a trek to Everest Base Camp to raise funds for the donor-recruitment charity, Anthony Nolan Trust, told the Citizen: "Jennifer is doing very well. The white blood cells kicked in about a week ago - that means there hasn't been a rejection of the transplant, and it is working.
"She is hoping to be home at the end of this week."
