REGARDING the re-cycling scheme which has recently been introduced in Blackburn, I run my own business in the Livesey area and come into contact with numerous clients, so I am not just speaking for myself but for a cross-section of people who are all aware that something has to be done about the enormous amount of waste in our towns.

I cannot comprehend how you can expect an average family to cope with one grey wheelie bin being emptied once a fortnight.

The plastic and bottle 'box' is inadequate and unhealthy. Surely, a smaller version of the wheelie bin would make a more suitable alternative.

Needless to say, the average householder has acquired extra work only to be subjected to a large increase in the council tax.
