MORE travellers have arrived in Summerseat Village since the first convoy arrived on Sunday evening (June 8).
Around 15 caravans have now set up camp on playing fields on Waterside Road.
Bury Council were due to apply for a court order yesterday (Thurs June 12) to move the travellers on. One resident, whose home overlooks the field, said: "Children in the field have been using gardens as toilets which is disgusting. There have been generators running all night and cars sounding their horns.
"Local children have had a playing field taken from them."
She added:" I understand the council are hoping to evict the travellers early next week. It is quite worrying that they will still be in the village over the weekend."
