ELDERLY people are in need of volunteers to help out in Darwen's day care centre.
The centre, which runs at Derwent Hall five days a week, is looking for volunteers to help look after elderly visitors on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Doreen Hicken, manager, said: "We are looking for people who will come in one day a week or even people who will come in on a one off basis when we are struggling for volunteers.
"We need people who are friendly and sociable because there will be a lot of socialising involved. Volunteers will talk to the 15 clients we have, as well as getting involved in the activities."
The service, which has four full-time staff and two volunteers, is looking to recruit three more volunteers for each of the days.
