LANCASHIRE Evening Telegraph pages are the best - and that's official!
For Sports Editor Paul Plunkett was named Newspaper Designer of the Year at Newsquest Editorial Awards last night.
Judge Peter Sands said: "This was a first-class portfolio of sports pages with real impact and imagination."
Paul, 36, was presented with a specially-commissioned trophy made by renowned glassmaker Lestyn Davies, whose prestigious clients include Harrods.
Newsquest Chief Executive Paul Davidson presented the award at the Tower Hill Hotel, London.
Paul said: "It's a great honour, and a real tribute to all who work on the sports desk.
"This award proves Telegraph Sport is the brightest and best around."
It was a double celebration for the Evening Telegraph after Clive Lawrence was commended in the Photographer of the Year section.
