A SPANISH woman living in East Lancashire has predicted David Beckham will be a Real hit with his new fans in Spain.
Lifelong Madrid fan Menchu Rouillon, 40, moved to Blackburn from the Spanish capital 14 years ago, when she married an Englishman. But she still follows her team online from her home in Leamington Road, Revidge, and makes regular trips back to Spain with her 13-year-old son David, to see the team play at the Bernabeu stadium.
Menchu, a part-time tutor at Blackburn College, who also works in the town's Woolworths store, also predicted Beckham would like playing in the club's white home strip, which will make him look "really sexy". She said: "I think Beckham will love Madrid. Real are already strong in midfield, but Beckham will be great for marketing the club.
"The girls over there pack the training ground to see their favourite players and they will all be going crazy for Beckham. I've been on the phone to my sister-in-law and she's been really excited with all the speculation."
