LOAN ace, Leam Richardson, is back at Blackpool after signing a full time contract with the Seasiders.

Richardson spent the second half of last season at Bloomfield Road, and put in some impressive performances.

The start of his loan spell coincided with a run which took Blackpool to the edge of the play-off zone.

He has signed a one-year deal with a one-year extension.

Richardson, who started his career at Blackburn, is a specialist right back, but also slotted in last season at left back and in midfield.

Next week is expected to be a busy one at Bloomfield Road. Tuesday, July 1, is the date when players' contracts normally expire, meaning Blackpool may be in a position to identify the mystery striker who agreed terms earlier this month. Work is also going on behind the scenes to attract more players.

Peter Clarke remains a Blackpool target after Everton turned down a bid for the England under-21 ace from Northampton.

The hard work of preparing for the season starts next Wednesday, when the players report back for pre-season training.

The first action for the Seasiders comes on July 15, with a trip to Accrington Stanley. The Seasiders then head to the Isle of Man, where they face Burnley, Wrexham and either Rotherham, Rushden and Diamonds or the island's national team.

Tournament organisers say they have had unprecedented levels of interest in this year's competition.

Bloomfield Road games against Blackburn Rovers and Royal Antwerp follow before the big kick-off on August 9.

Again, the Seasiders find themselves with the toughest of all possible starts, against play-off finalists QPR at Loftus Road.

Wycombe visit the new-look Bloomfield Road on August 16 before Pool travel to Oldham Athletic on August 23.

Highlights of the season could include the visit to Hillsborough on November 1 and the return clash with Sheffield Wednesday on April 17.

Steve McMahon's side finish with games against Peterborough at home on May 1 and away at Bristol City on May 8.
