ACCRINGTON Stanley are set for another whopping windfall courtesy of the Nationwide Conference and Sky TV.

The Reds will pocket £2,000 as the away team when they make their eagerly-awaited television debut at Aldershot next month.

But Crown Ground chiefs have been told they can now look forward to receiving over £20,000 as a result of an expansion of the TV deal.

All 22 teams in the Conference last season pocketed £18,000 from money gleaned from the satellite giant.

But Sky's welcome move to double the number of live games shown this season, from six to twelve, will now mean extra revenue for teams at the top of the non-league pyramid.

A board meeting convened early next month will determine the exact figure, but a source confirmed the amount is expected to be well in advance of £20,000.

Reds' chairman Eric Whalley said: "The whole profile of the club has been lifted and the news of this cash injection is more welcome news.

"That is brilliant for us because it's money in the bank. Season ticket sales have already more than doubled from last year and we still have five weeks to go before the kick off, so we are looking forward to a tremendous season."
