IN the reaction to the recent inroads made by the BNP, many have accused the party of misleading the public.

I am not a member of the BNP, or any other political party but many of the critics of the BNP tactics have been Labour supporters. What hypocrites!

Let's look at their leaders' recent 'misleading' facts. In the general election, he said we had "24 hours to save the NHS," now there are more administrators than beds, billions have been wasted and six years on, we're still waiting.

Then he said he would not raise taxes. There have now been 50 tax rises under this Labour government.

How about Iraq? He misled the country into believing the UK was in danger from Saddam. This was another 'untruth' to keep favour with his US counterpart.

"Education, education, education" was the cry. Now, some schools are making teachers redundant.

On the European constitution, Tony Blair says we don't need a referendum. Yet, he allows a referendum to decide the Mayor of Hartlepool!

Before criticising the BNP for misleading the public, Labour supporters, members and councillors should take a long, hard look at their own party.
