THERE was a dash of the continental at Ewood Park as Blackburn Rovers unveiled three new signings at a press conference.

Australian midfielder Brett Emerton, Italian defender Loenzo Amoruso and young US goalkeeper David Yelldell have joined the club.

Manager Graeme Souness said that he was keen to see new faces at Ewood and that Emerton and Amoruso had been top of his list.

"Lorenzo is a senior professional who will be able to offer influence both on and off the pitch," Souness said.

"And I am thrilled to see Brett here, there were many clubs keen to sign him and I'm sure he will be a success in the Premiership."

Souness was delighted with his new signings

Amoruso has signed on a three year deal costing £1.35m and Brett Emerton has signed a four year deal and will cost £2.2m.

The 21-year-old Stuttgart Kickers' keeper David Yelldell has also joined Rovers on a three year deal, he had already been on trial with the club earlier this year.
