Job advice for redundant workers STAFF made redundant from Crown Wallcoverings are being invited to a back-to-work event tomorrow.
Local employers and support agencies will be on hand at Derwent Hall on George Street, Darwen, from 1.30 to 5.30pm. Heritage Envelopes, Zen Wallcoverings, GGI Office Furniture and Tempo will discuss potential job opportunities with new recruits.
Ex-Crown workers will be offered advice on job searching, CV writing and training for new jobs. Natasha O'Connell, Darwen Jobcentre manager, said: "Some of the area's main employees have been invited and the ex-workers have received personal invitations to attend the event." Coun Andy Kay, executive member for regeneration, said: "We will do whatever we can to make employment and training opportunities available to former workers at the site."
