COLNE athlete Laura Finucane has taken fifth place in a World Championship final.
Competing in the 800 metres at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Sherbrooke, Canada, the 16-year-old Pendle Athletic Club star clocked 2 minutes 05.90 seconds in the final.
Laura had earlier won her heat and the semi-final but the final was run at a much hotter pace.
Winner Maria Chapaeva from Russia set a championship record 2:03.40 while the next three home had to set personal best times to keep Laura at bay.
