BLACKBURN Centurions Swimming Club members competed in two weekends of competitions at the Manchester Aquatic Centre -- with top honours going to Joshua Walsh and Kaitlyn King.

For Joshua and Kaitlyn both obtained national qualifying times as well as winning a string of events.

Joshua achieved the national qualifying time after winning the 100m and 200m freestyle, the 100m backstroke and the 200m individual medley.

He was also second in the 200m backstroke.

Kaitlyn was successful in the girls 12 year 100m breaststroke and was second in the 200m Individual Medley -- an event in which she achieved the national qualifying time.

And Cavan Holleran was second in the 100m breaststroke, but just missed his qualifying time by a faction of a second.

The National Age Groups will take place in Sheffield at the end of July.

The combination of wins for Joshua also gave him first place in the overall Bagcats point's category for 11-year-old boys.

In the Youth Championships, Katy Punch was third in the 100m breaststroke, Eve Taylor was second in the 50m butterfly and Sherryl Wright was third in the 50 m backstroke.
