HELP is at hand for students receiving A and AS Level results today (Thursday).

Experts from the borough's Connexions Service will be available at schools and colleges both today, and for GCSE results next Thursday, to give out one-to-one advice and support both delighted and disappointed students.

Wigan Council's cabinet member for lifelong learning, Cllr Brian Wilson, said: "We wish everyone the best of luck with their exam results. Our young people deserve only the very best help and advice at this time.

Higher grades

"Whether students have higher grades than expected or are disappointed they don't have to try to work out the next step on their own. Personal advisers can give help and support in decision making."

Students who do not wish to see an adviser on the day can visit the Connexion Centre's one-stop shops at 114, Bradshawgate, Leigh, or Standishgate, Wigan, or ring on freephone 0800 953 0109 to arrange a meeting.
