BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness is planning to appeal against the straight red card dished out to Steven Reid in Saturday's explosive Lancashire derby with Bolton.
The Republic of Ireland international was sent off by referee Andy D'Urso for a late challenge on Stelios Giannakopoulos, just 12 minutes after he had climbed off the bench to make his Rovers debut.
Souness was also unhappy about the penalty awarded to Bolton three minutes into the game which Youri Djorkaeff converted.
Lucas Neill was pulled up by the referee after he appeared to tug Jay-Jay Okocha.
Souness said: "We felt we were on the end of two very harsh decisions.
"We didn't think it was a penalty at the time and especially after seeing it at an angle on TV.
"The referee chose to see it as he did with the sending off.
"As for the sending off, people might see it as an aggressive challenge but I thought it was a great challenge."
