FINAL preparations are being made by the parents of former county cricketer Ian Folley for a Cricket match in his memory.

James and Constance Folley, of Clayton-le-Moors, decided to do something to mark the tenth anniversary of their son's death while, at the same time, raising money for charity.

Ian, who played for Nelson and Padiham teams before becoming a member of the Lancashire team, died in August 1993 after being hit in the face with a cricket ball during a match for Whitehaven.

Mr Folley has arranged for many of Ian's friends and some of the region's best cricketers to take part in a memorial tournament at Padiham Cricket Club on Sunday at 1pm.
