DARWEN Community Centre enjoyed a lick of paint and a general revamp thanks to a dedicated ten-strong team.
Grafters from the Blackburn Partnership invested time, money and effort into giving the Knott Street Centre a much needed facelift.
Three separate community projects were helped by the scheme, including a static bus-cum-classroom in Rishton and the THOMAS centre in Blackburn which provides food and counselling to homeless people.
Darwen Community Centre offers a range of facilities and classes to the town ranging from mothers and toddlers to senior citizens.
Janet Barton, team leader, said: "We painted the reception, the main room and a couple of other rooms. We also tidied up the litter in the garden area."
Wendy Hobson, of the Blackburn Partnership, said: "We provided the overalls and working equipment and Akzo Nobel were kind enough to provide the paints and B&Q gave us plants for the garden, painting equipment and discounts off other items we needed."
Ten people worked through Friday to complete the job.
